Ancient Olympia

The trip to Ancient Olympia begins with a first stop at the Isthmus of Corinth, where you will have the chance to take your first photos. We cross the Peloponnese through Tripoli and Andritsaina, and we will reach the small town of Olympia. Ancient Olympia was established as the most important sports and religious center of ancient Greece. The Olympic Games were born here and they were held every four years in honor of Zeus, with a wreath made out of an olive branch as the top prize. In the archaeological site we will admire the temple of Zeus and we will visit the sanctuary of Hera, Vouleuterion, Prytanio and many other monuments. We will then visit the archaeological museum and after this physical and spiritual visit to the birthplace of the Olympic Games we will stop for lunch at one of the traditional taverns of the area.
